United States prefers to see CIA trained Posada Carilles dead before extraditing him http://www.telesurtv.net/noticias/entrev-reportajes/index.php?ckl=519

The lawyer representing Venezuela in the case of the request for extradition of confessed terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, Jose Pertierra, said Tuesday that the U.S. justice seeks to prolong the trial of the terrorist "because they prefer to see his death before being extradited " "So every chance the  Prosecution gets they seek an extension, because the solution they seek is a biological solution, they  prefer to see him dead before extradited. Not that they  want to kill him, but they know he  is an older man and the more time passes , the mroe chances he might die and end the extradition case, "the lawyer said in an interview with teleSUR.

He also assured that the law requires the U.S. government to extradite the terrorist Cuban-Venezuelan, and keep him in Miami from participating in political events. Posada Carriles is responsible for blowing up an Air Cubana Airlines with 76 people aboard in 1976, which took off from Venezuela to Cuba, but after a stopover in Barbados was the subject of the attack planned by the applicant today extradition.  Does the U.S. President know Luis Posada Carriles is a fugitive from Venezuelan justice? Yes they  know and still protect him. I think that for different reasons than Bush. Posada Carriles is a terrorist close to  the Bush family. When exploited the Cubana airliner in 1976, Posada worked for the CIA and the head of the CIA was Bush sr. When he  escaped from prison in San Juan de los Morros, Guarico state in Venezuela here in 1985, Vice President of the United States was Bush's father and, coincidentally, began working for the CIA days after his escape, for an operation that was led by Bush later called Iran-Contra scandal.

Why Barack Obama fails to remove this terrorist? Power in the United States is not necessarily in the Oval Office, the President has some power, but there is much power in the shadows and from these shadows is the Pentagon, CIA and tehse people who have much to lose if Posada Carriles is extradited to Venezuela aree afraud he would start to sing like a parakeet.

And we've seen before each time that Posada is threatened, threatens to sing.  What can I say to put Posada Carriles is a danger the U.S. establishment? Posada is not just any any small terrorist, or even a small CIA operative. Posada is a man of great status within the CIA. He, Posada, was the CIA man in Caracas during the 1970s, when he exercised his power as head of special operations of the DISIP (Venezuelan Intelligence), imprisoned, tortured and murderer of many here in Venezuela. It was also the man with the CIA in Central America, advising the death squads in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

He was also a man who has repeatedly participated in terrorist acts against Cuba, including the bombings in 1997, on which he boasted to be the mastermind. And all that Posada has done during all those years, said Posada's lawyer himself, he did on behalf of Washington. So if he speaks, hed  speak of who gave orders

What evidence is there that Luis Posada Carriles committed crimes in Venezuela, are enough classified documents that would implicate him? We presented more than two thousand pages of documents in support of the extradition request we made, which show that Posada Carriles was the mastermind of the bombing. These documents gave one of the perpetrators, Hernán Ricardo, the police chief of Trinidad, only days after the downing of the plane where Hernán Ricardo says he placed the bomb. He says he paid $ 25,000 for doing so and that his boss was Posada Carriles.

We also present documentation showing phone calls from Trinidad, of the perpetrators here in Caracas that Hernan Ricardo Posada Carriles seeks to inform the bus, as they will relate to the aircraft exploded and that the dogs have died, code words to say passengers and had big trouble in Trinidad. There are many tests. When we raided the offices of Posada Carriles here in Caracas, in 1976,we  found among other things an itinerary of flights of Cubana de Aviacion and they are here still.

The court in El Paso, Texas, has evidence of the participation of Posada Carriles in the chain of attacks in 1997 in Cuba, so why not the process as a liar and a terrorist? Just to hinder the extradition request submitted Venezuela. International Law, international conventions signed by the United States and Venezuela forced to extradite or prosecute Posada in U.S. territory for their crimes.

Since there is such a legal obligation, the only way for the U.S. government to interfere is to delay the process and anything else to delay the decision on extradition and that is what they are doing with the case. So every chance he gets the Prosecution seeks an extension, because the solution they seek is a biological solution, I prefer to see dead before extradition. If extradited, the fear they have is to sing.  In late January, the prosecution was in Havana to seek evidence about the link Posada Carriles with the perpetrators of the bomb. There are two individuals imprisoned in Cuba who gave information to the prosecution and forensic specialists are documents showed copies of the bombs used by these individuals to kill the Italian Fabio Di Celmo and injuring eleven people. Posada Carriles also boasted of being the mastermind in an interview with The New York Times (American newspaper).

The funny thing is, we assume that he would goe to trial and demonstrate that he has committed perjury when he denied knowing the perpetrator Lion Rene Cruz who detonated the bomb that killed Fabio Di Celmo, we assume that, if that happens then the next question is why not process him for the murder of Fabio Di Celmo, the terrorism that was made using funds that came to him from Miami and New York to a conspiracy to murder people in cold blood in Cuba? "Posada Carriles has said he lied because the CIA specifically taught to lie, I was confused when he was interviewed in El Paso?

If it says in the documents submitted by the lawyer of him (Posada) to the Federal Court, that really should not be prosecuted for lying because the Americans themselves taught him to lie when the CIA trained him. It is a curious argument, I do not expect to prosper, but it is very interesting. It is striking that the U.S. has two war fronts in the world in its supposed fight against terrorism, however, Posada Carriles is free in the streets of Miami How to understand this?

They have a crossroads, and  feel that if they extradite him hell sing, then they  want to protect him, but it is doing much harm, because it demonstrates the double standard of U.S. policy in this fight against terrorism. You can not have a terrorist such as Luis Posada Carriles in U.S. territory protected and standing then before the United Nations  say you're the great defender of freedom and you are opposed to terrorism, you are violating a lot of international agreements, including Resolution 1373 Security Council United Nations, adopted at the behest of the United States Government, shortly after the September 11, which says that no nation can protect the UN in its territory to a terrorist.

And while the U.S. continues to delay the case of Luis Posada Carriles, Cuban Five antiterrorist fighters are also imprisoned in the U.S.  How are we to understand this? The double standards of the United States is that distort reality and justice. Cuba sent five men to Miami to combat terrorism. His reason for being anti-terrorist fighters is Posada Carriles, because they will defend Cuba from terrorists lik  Posada Carriles wich operated in Havana.

1990 was the time, the bombs bursting in Tropicana hotel, the Melia, in the Hotel Nacional, the Bodeguita del Medio, and the  organizing of all this was by Posada Carriles. Cubans penetrated terrorist organizations in Miami that were financing the campaign, Cuba gives evidence of the involvement of these organizations, the FBI and the CIA,and  instead of arresting these terrorists, they  arrest the  individuals who entered this organization to achieve evidence and even arrested them.

They have over twelve years imprisoned in the United States and Posada Carriles is the Osama Bin Laden of Latin America and unvaccinated loose on the streets of Miami. Just a few months ago we saw Posada Carriles in Miami's streets in a demonstration for calls to Cuba bBlanco Ladies, What are the linkages between Posada and this group of people in Cuba?

There is a strong link between the Damas de Blanco and Posada Carriles. It is the fiscal sponsor Posada Carriles, a man named Santiago Álvarez Fernández Magriña. That is the individual who has always paid the cost of Posada and even went to look to Mexico in 2005, on a ship called the San Trina, to incorporate the United States illegally. That same Santiago Alvarez has sent money to the Ladies in White, through the diplomatic bag and the head of U.S. Interests Section of the United States in Cuba, this is filmed and presented publicly,

I'm not saying something Again, it's a known thing. What happens is that often suffer from historical amnesia and we forget the things that happened last week, but that recently went on television internationally, then I am not surprised when Posada Carriles out on the streets of Miami for Las Damas de Blanco. What is worrying is that a terrorist of the stature of this man can freely participate in political events. Up did you imagine the scandal if Osama Bin Laden comes out marching the streets of Pakistan or in favor of the widow do not know what? United States is capable of throwing an atom bomb, but in Miami  terrorists operate with impunity.

Representatives of the Guild of American lawyers have complained that even journalists were paid to create such adverse weather against the Five in Miami. I do not think they have to pay reporters in Miami to speak ill of Cuba, I think that Miami is like breathing in the atmosphere of Miami is full of prejudices against Cuba, it is impossible to conduct a fair and objective Miami.

Therefore, the most glaring error committed by the judge in the case of the Five is refusing to change the venue if the matter had been aired in the U.S. Moreover, no way to convict five of them had any classified documents, none of them tried to enter an American agency, on the contrary were entering Cuban-American terrorist organizations in Miami. And Miami is only possible for a jury, convened by the Court, unanimously condemn these individuals for this great injustice. I do not think they needed to pay to any journalist.

This June 14 Habeas Corpus was filed on behalf of Gerardo Hernandez, one of the five Cubans being held in the U.S. What has prospects of advancing an initiative like this in the U.S. justice system?. This is the last legal recourse that is left for Gerardo, he is sentenced to two life sentences plus 15 years, the Supreme Court has already ruled against him. It is the only recourse left is the Habeas Corpus. There is a great injustice in his case, which is not changed the venue of the case and mistakes made by the prosecution in that prejudiced the jury against Gerardo.

It is possible, but it is very difficult, I think the solution, not only for Gary, but for the Five in general is a political solution. I think the same Gerardo has said, the millions of citizens outraged by what has happened to them, are those with the keys to the jail in their hands to make the president of the United States would extend a leniency executive, reducing sentences that are excessive and to liberate them.

Obama does not even have to forgive, you can simply reduce the sentences and they would go free like the Puerto Rican independence Lolita Lebron, Cancel Miranda, who were released by the president (Jimmy) Carter them after their sentences were reduced and made ( Carter) for reasons of its parts, which then subsequently received reciprocal gestures. The same could happen now.

There are people imprisoned in Cuba that the U.S. might also be interested in them and I am sure that if the U.S. government made a humanitarian gesture towards the Cuban Five, Cuba would be a humanitarian gesture towards prisoners in Cuba, President Raul Castro the same has spoken.

You mean a contractor who was supposed to Cuba just a strategy to subvert the order on the island?. This is one of the prisoners who are in Cuba, an important statement, the man is arrested for participating in a program aiming at the subversion in Cuba and the United States has shown interest in his release. Hopefully not too long a prisoner in Cuba, that Cuba release, but I hope that President Obama to release losCcinco, what I mean? There should be reciprocity.

I am sure that Mr Alan Gross has family in the U.S. miss you and want to be with him, like Gerardo has his wife, Adriana, who has not seen in twelve years and would like Gary to come back. I think we have to overcome the Cold War. I think we have to reach that moment that we have prisoners in our jails, which can be considered political prisoners by both governments, which it passes into history.

Beyond the desire to overcome the Cold War, the fact is that barely a few days ago, the U.S. government released a millionaire starting to subvert order in Cuba. I really surprised they have released that much money while they have the contractor (Gross) in prison, because I wonder how demanding the release of this man if you still have mounted a program to send more contractors? Not understand that, but it something that has to rate the president Obama.

President Obama needs to understand that arriving at the White House should not be to be something but to do something, but what he wants to be president of the United States so far has been very interested in a pact with the U.S. extreme right in Instead of standing up to the extreme right and do right things, make a different political shift in Latin America.

President Obama needs to understand that arriving at the White House should not be to be something but to do something Very disappointed that he did in Honduras, still has time in his presidency to change things, you still have time to remove the block, to free the Five, to extradite Posada. If the far right does not like, sorry, but the president is Obama, not the extreme right.
