Islam Times Exclusive:Saudi Arabia's efforts to keep the dictatorial Arab regimes http://islamtimes.org/vdcg3t97.ak9zu4j5ra.html

Zaid Al-Essa, an expert in political affairs, considered that Saudi Arabia is a prime supporter and ally of the totalitarian and dictatorial Arab regimes because it does not recognize anything called elections or freedom, accusing the West of double standards when dealing with revolutions, especially the Bahraini Arab revolution...On Sunday Issa said in a statement to Al-Alam News Channel that: the Saudi Arabian movement or the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the main backer and ally of the totalitarian and dictatorial Arab regimes which has been proven now with evidence that it is the safe haven of dictatorship and the main stronghold and resort for dictators.

He added that the Saudi effort has tried to support all Arab dictators against the aspirations of peoples for freedom and elections, because it does not recognize anything called elections, freedom does not have a place in its dictionary, no freedom of worship, no freedom of thought, no freedom of media, and Saudi Arabia does not even acknowledge such forms of freedom. He continued: We recall the support of Saddam's dictatorial regime to launch the war against Iran. Saudi Arabia had supported him financially, through the media, politicaly, and paid him the money and then used these monies as debt to stifle democracy in Iraq after the fall of Saddam's regime.

Saudi Arabia also stood by the Tunisia’s dictator "Ben Ali" and offered him support, received him giving him a safe haven, and now despises the Tunisian people just because they decided to put him on trial. Issa noted the personal support of the Saudi king to the Mubarak regime when he begged for Obama's support of Mubarak’s remaining in power, and now Saudi Arabia is to buy off the generals in Egypt in order to discourage them from his legal trial. In addition there is its intervention in Yemen and its unlimited support for Saleh’s regime but the steadfastness of the Yemeni people and their commitment to their uprising Saudi Arabia could not circumvent the revolution. The political expert pointed out that Saudi Arabia had a perception that the revolution will be limited to the Arab Republics and the Kingdoms will not be affected,

but they were surprised by what happened in Morocco and the start of the revolution in it and are now angry at the King of Morocco for providing compromises and concessions even if they were just formalities.Issa said that the West is dealing with double standards when it comes to the Arab revolutions, since the west claims support for human rights, freedom men and women, but at the same time stands back takes the passenger’s seat when it comes to the Bahraini people’s revolution. The west gave Saudi Arabia a green light to enter their troops into Bahrain and suppress the Bahraini people, as well as the ignoring of the dictatorship in Saudi Arabia especially since Saudi Arabia it does not offer any kind of freedom to its people.
