A visiting Iranian Oil Ministry delegation has reportedly escaped a terrorist attack on the outskirts of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, unscathed.The delegation's vehicle was attacked by gunmen on Wednesday.The Iranian delegation is unharmed and the attack has not changed their itinerary, Iranian Oil Ministry website Shana reported. Headed by Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Alireza Zeighami, the mission is in Iraq to discuss the Islamic Republic's potential long-term exports of diesel and other oil products to its western neighbor.
The attack took place after the delegation met with officials from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and was heading to the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity.Tehran would be exporting some three million liters (792,500 gallons) of diesel for Iraq's power stations on a daily basis, should the visit result in an agreement.

Iranian ambassador to Iraq Hassan Danaei-Far said on Wednesday the visiting Iranian delegation in Iraq is safe and sound. Some reports say a terrorist attempt came against the Iranian petroleum delegation which has arrived in Baghdad for oil talks. "Reports say that a shooting came in a district where the Iranian delegation was passing. The Iranian team does not seem to be the target of the terrorists," he told ISNA. He said one of the Iraqi guards was injured in the attack.
