FRENCH MILITARY PUTTING BOOTS ON SYRIA-JORDAN BORDER,UNDER GUISE OF MEDICAL AID  FRENCH MILITARY-MEDICAL TEAM LEAVES PARIS FOR JORDAN-SYRIA BORDER  A team of French military and civilian medical personnel has headed to Jordan to provide assistance to wounded Syrian refugees fleeing to that country from the Syrian conflict, diplomatic sources confirmed here.

France, which currently holds the presidency of the United Nations Security Council, has announced a ministerial meeting of the Security Council on Aug 30 to discuss the worsening Syrian crisis. "By bringing together our Security Council partners, France intends to show its support for the Syrian people, its growing concern for regional stability and its attachment to a transition to a democratic and pluralist system" in Syria, a statement said.
