FLASHBACK-  Qatar a shining star, says San Jose Orthodox rabbi http://www.jweekly.com/article/full/39486/qatar-a-shining-star-says-san-jose-orthodox-rabbi/

The night Rabbi Raphael Lapin flew into Doha, Qatar’s capital city looked like a “giant jewel box.”Though it might seem odd at best, and dangerous at worst, for an Orthodox rabbi to spend time in an Arab Muslim nation such as Qatar, Lapin said his recent sojourn there changed him profoundly.“Qatar is a phenomenal place,” Lapin said of the nation that borders the Persian Gulf and Saudi Arabia. “The trip changed my perspective in many ways. The government is unbelievably proactive.”Lapin, who lives in San Jose, heads an international mediation and conflict resolution business. The Doha government contracted him to train Qatari business leaders and ministry officials in modern negotiating techniques. The fact that he is an Orthodox Jew simply didn’t come up in their discussions, Lapin said. His contacts were Arab men dressed in kaffiyehs and flowing white robes. The women covered themselves in head-to-toe burkas. Yet he said he was welcomed and respected, and that he was in the company of forward-thinking progressives.“They are interested in developing ways of dealing with disputes and conflicts,” Lapin said, “as opposed to just litigation. I was basically teaching them and developing a system of dispute resolution. They are working very hard on infrastructure, education, health care. My first thought was, this is like Singapore in the early ’70s.”
[ed notes:he was being consulted and contracted by Qatari govt!  also interetsing,is how he says it looked much like  singapore in  70's because because Israhell started training  singapores armed forces in mid 60's and selling them military hardware!!!
Unlike hard-line nations such as Syria and Iran, Qatar and most of the other Persian Gulf states have pursued a more moderate political approach to the West. Qatar even had low-level diplomatic relations with Israel until the outbreak of the Gaza incursion last January.  [ed note:he was contracted and consulted by Zionist Qatar govt after operation cast lead!!!hes a Zionist jew with ties to Israhelli govt!!!
Lapin said Qatar compares favorably to Israel and even surpasses the Jewish homeland when it comes to some aspects of statecraft.“I’m very concerned,” he said. “Israel’s arrogance allows them to perceive the Arab as a primitive. But there’s a universe of Arabs in these Gulf states that is becoming a very strong force economically and politically. They work on PR, while Israel’s not doing that.“For the Gulf states, Israel is a nonissue. They’ve moved on.”Lapin found his Qatari partners to be Western-educated, fluent in English and eager for modernization. He also found them understanding of his Jewish heritage and tolerant of his religious needs. That included observing Shabbat and eating kosher food. His hotel even made sure to have some imported Scottish smoked salmon (i.e. lox) on hand for his visit. Lapin’s one concession to keeping a low profile: He did not wear his kippah.Normally, that would never happen. The South African native is the former rabbi of Am Echad Torah Community, an Orthodox congregation in San Jose founded by his father, Rabbi Avraham Hyam Lapin, in 1977.The younger Lapin took the reins in 1991, while his wife, Chanie, served as principal of the affiliated Eitz Chaim Academy for 16 years.Trained in negotiation at Harvard, in 1995 Lapin founded Conflict Management, which began modestly with divorce mediation and moved on to corporate conflict resolution. Clients have included British Telecom, Yahoo and Turner Construction (which built the new Yankee Stadium).Lapin also has volunteered with American Jewish World Service, and he wrote a book for Penguin Publisher’s Essential Manager series. Titled “Working with Difficult People,” the new 72-page book is scheduled to be available in October.Lapin plans on returning to Qatar in the fall. And when he does, he expects to build on the foundation of friendship he established last month.“Before this trip I believed there wasn’t such a thing as a moderate Arab,” Lapin said. “I thought they were all al Qaida sympathizers at the minimum. But I was incredibly impressed with their level of education, their ambition and drive, and their excitement over building a country.”
[ed notes:isnt it interesting, after Qatar ''supposedly'' breaks ''trade relations'' with israhell after attack on gaza(operation cast lead)[just having them before proves emir pig of qatar is a zionist anyway] brings in a zionist rabbi consultant on conflict management from arizona to Qatar?so lets recapp... QATAR,SABAN CENTER AND  THE ZIONIST THINK TANK RUSI IT HOSTS..

About Us

The opening in Doha of RUSI’s first international office reflects the importance that the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) places on the Arab and Muslim world. RUSI(Qatar) has been established on the basis that a permanent presence and the conduct of theatre based research is critical to understanding the increasingly complex strategic environment of the Gulf and broader Middle East, and the implications of regional developments for international security. The branch will draw on the expertise of its network of associate fellows and from its permanant staff at its headquarters in London, in addition to those based in Qatar. The Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI) is the oldest institute of its kind in the world. Established by the Duke of Wellington in 1831, the launch of RUSI(Qatar) is part of the Institute’s strategy to expand its defence and security research activities to key regions of the world.
RUSI is a British institution, but operates with an international perspective. It has amassed over the years an unequalled expertise in its field and an outstanding reputation for quality and objectivity. RUSI(Qatar) was opened with the invaluable support of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

Background

The Agreement establishing RUSI(Qatar) was reached on 25 June 2007, and a Memorandum of Understanding signed by His Excellency Khalid Rashid Al-Hamoudi Al-Mansouri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar on behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar and by Rear Admiral Richard Cobbold, the former Director of RUSI.Upon concluding the Memorandum of Understanding Rear Admiral Richard Cobbold, said “We have long recognized that the best way to pursue research activities is to be present in the region and engaged in direct dialogue with the main regional actors. Establishing a branch office in Doha is an historic step, showing that RUSI, though proud of its tradition and British heritage, is determined to remain at the cutting edge of the current security debate. We are most grateful to the Government of the State of Qatar for working with us on this initiative and we are convinced that it will succeed.”Signing on behalf of the State of Qatar, Ambassador Khalid Al-Mansouri stated “It is with great pleasure that I sign this agreement today with the renowned institute RUSI. Defence and security matters are of global concern and demand international cooperation in the interest of world peace and stability. This agreement can only enhance the good relations we enjoy with the United Kingdom.”RUSI(Qatar) formally launched its programme of activities during December 2007.

Can ‘Dispensable Nation’ still be democracy’s ‘venture capitalist’?
Is relative economic decline likely to undermine the United States’ capacity to advance democracy?“Partly it is about resources,” says Richard N. Haass, the president of Council on Foreign Relations, and author of the forthcoming book, “Foreign Policy Begins at Home.” “But it is also about reducing your vulnerability to the machinations of currency markets and potentially hostile central bankers.”
“When we appear to be dysfunctional, as we have in recent times, it makes it hard to be the model for the democratic, capitalistic model we say we want to be in the world,”
he tells The New York Times. His views are echoed by a former aide to Richard Holbrooke, President Obama’s ‘Af-Pak’ envoy who dies in 2010:Vali Nasr, who will soon publish “The Dispensable Nation,” argues that the debt, among other economic woes, has allowed Mr. Obama and other Democrats to justify a retreat from global engagement. “It’s made it far easier to say ‘We can’t do more,’ ” said Mr. Nasr, the dean of the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. “And without addressing the debt issues, it will be easier to make that argument for years to come.”A departing senior diplomat at the State Department who requested anonymity, ruminating on the outcome of the confrontation on the fiscal crisis, said that the failure to attack the long-term debt issues would become another reason “to turn our backs on the Middle East and trim our sails on the new focus on Asia.”Some analysts fear that the poor performance and economic decline of the world’s democracies is creating space for autocratic states to expand their global footprint and influence, not least in the embryonically transitional countries of the “Arab Spring.”“[Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammed] Morsi has played this very smart, asking the Chinese whether they are willing to invest in Egypt the way they have in Kenya or Uganda,” Nasr said. “What’s happened is that we’ve been able to hide behind the economic argument to justify why we are no longer the venture capitalist of democracy.”
Daily Beast contributor David Frum suggests that would-be Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has the credentials to join the Obama administration, citing the wise words of his 2004 Foreign Affairs article, “A Republican Foreign Policy,” including his argument that “increased funding for the National Endowment for Democracy, is a good start on an ambitious and pragmatic program for change in this region [the Arab world]. Sustainable democracy will depend on institutions that support education, women’s rights, and private-sector development.”

Economic mirage
Development consultant Rick Rowden argues that despite all the breathless reports of Africa’s rapid economic rise, “increased growth and trade are not development”:“Though African countries desperately need the policy space to adopt industrial policies, the rich countries are pushing loan conditions and trade and investment agreements that block them from doing so, all the while proffering a happy narrative about ‘the rise of Africa.’ The very idea of industrialization has been dropped from the official development agenda. Yet there’s a reason why we all regularly refer to the rich, industrialized countries in the OECD as ‘industrialized.’Despite the important gains in services industries and per capita incomes, Africa is still not rising, and services alone will not create enough jobs to absorb the millions of unemployed youth in Africa’s growing urban areas. Instead, steps must be taken to revise WTO agreements and the many trade agreements and bilateral investment treaties currently being negotiated so that Africa has the freedom to adopt the industrial policies it needs in order to make genuine progress.”
Absurd rationale
Responding to the surprise statement by “rogue Canadian minister” Julian Fantino that Canada has frozen new aid to Haiti, former Associated Press Haiti correspondent Jonathan Katz offered the following flurry of tweets:“Fantino is demonstrating how aid works: Rich country dictates terms. When the program fails, the poor country gets blamed. #Haiti #Canada
Canada disbursed $657 million from the quake to Sept. 2012 ‘for Haiti,’ but only about 2% went to the Haitian government. It hasn’t told the UN Office of the Special envoy where 66% of its recovery funds went. Another $192.7 million is pledged and not disbursed.
Canada has, however, been better than most countries in delivering its 2010 donors conference pledge. But when you give, say, $18.2 million to UNDP for Champ de Mars housing, and two years later there isn’t adequate housing, who’s to blame?
Some argue freezing aid would be a good start. But Fantino’s rationale–that Haitians owe Canadians results–is absurd on its face.
Again, admitting that aid isn’t working in Haiti is fine. It’s accurate.
… But saying, ‘Well, we did all we could. It’s their problem now,’ IS the problem.
If Canada’s govt didn’t bother to tell Haiti’s govt it was freezing aid–and the Haitians didn’t even notice–that’s all you need to know.”\

sex party in Honduran embassy in Bogota
The embassy of Honduras in Bogota has been robbed after an employee used the office to throw a party involving prostitutes and an abundance of alcohol, reported a Honduras newspaper Thursday.According to Honduran newspaper El Heraldo the embassy was robbed of computers and cell phones and invitees to the extra-official party defecated in the ambassador's private office and on the military attache's desk. The newspaper said the party and subsequent robbery put Honduran national security, joint efforts to fight crime, and the diplomatic mission in Bogota at risk.According to the newspaper, the December 20 party had been thrown by an assistant of the ambassador who, in contravention of the rules, was allowed to live in the embassy and was even given the keys to the building. The employee reportedly felt "lonely" and invited Colombian friends over, with whom the Honduran left the embassy, got "completely drunk" and returned with an unknown number of prostitutes.Instead of firing the embassy employee, Ambassador Carlos Humberto Rodriguez took the party organizer into his home while trying to stop the scandal from going public. The ambassador failed to respond to requests to clarify the situation.

Zionist jews stop defaming good jews! Richard Falk  An Open Letter of Response to CRIF (Conseil Représentif des Institutions Juives de France)
I am shocked and saddened that your organization would label me as an anti-Semite and self-hating Jew. It is utterly defamatory, and such allegations are entirely based on distortions of what I believe and what I have done. To confuse my criticisms of Israel with self-hatred of myself as a Jew or with hatred of Jews is a calumny. I have long been a critic of American foreign policy but that does not make me anti-American; it is freedom of conscience and its integral link with freedom of expression that is the core defining reality of a genuinely democratic society, and the robust exercise of these rights are crucial to the quality of political life in a particular country, especially here in the United States where its size and influence often has such a large impact on the lives and destiny of many peoples excluded from participating in its policy debates or elections. It is always difficult to negate irresponsible accusations of this kind. What follows is an attempt to clarify my honestly held positions in relation to a litany of charges that have been given currency by a defamatory campaign conducted by UN Watch ever since I was appointed by the UN Human Rights Council to be Special Rapporteur for the human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories in 2008. What follows are brief attempts at clarification in response to the main charges:...

(THEN AND NOW)FREE TRADE,BILATERAL AGREEMENTS,LICENSING AND SUBSIDIZING OPIUM TRADE UNDER MEDICINAL PURPOSE EXCUSE...The Political History of Turkey’s Opium Licensing System for the Production of Medicines: Lessons for Afghanistan
The Political History of Turkey's Opium Licensing System for the ...
Analogous to the current situation in Afghanistan, in the 1960s Turkey was one of theworld’s main opium producing countries. During this period the United States faced significant drug consumption problems, associated with the increasingly unpopular Vietnam War, through heroin-consuming American soldiers. Increasingly, the US Government perceived Turkey to be the source of much of its heroin, and by the late
1960s Turkish opium production became a significant issue in the two countries’ political relationship. After several years of tense negotiations, political pragmatism prevailed, resulting in Turkey switching from unregulated crop growing to licensed poppy cultivation for the production of medicines. The Turkish political dynamic was such that poppy farmers’interests were key to the stability of the country. When Turkey deemed total eradication both technically and socially impracticable, the US and the Turkish Governments worked together to implement a poppy licensing system for the production of opium-based medicines, as an alternative means of bringing poppy cultivation under control. Turkey was then able to resume poppy cultivation, under a strict licensing system supported by the United Nations and a preferential trade agreement with the US.The Turkish experience shows that the United States has actively supported a switch from un-regulated to licensed, legal poppy cultivation for the production of medicines as a drug supply reduction strategy. In addition, in 1979 the United Nations asked those countries manufacturing opium-based
medicines to purchase their narcotic raw materials from traditional producer countries such as India and Turkey.30 In 1981 the US gave legislative effect to this request, extending ‘special protected market status’ to Turkey (and India) under a Drug Enforcement Agency Regulation, commonly known as the ‘80-20’ Rule.31 Under thisrule the United States must purchase at least 80% of its narcotic raw materials fromTurkey and India. To this day, the US continues to support the Turkish opium industry through its Department of Agriculture and Drug Enforcement Agency.3 Conclusion Turkey’s successful transition from a culture of widespread, unregulated poppy cultivation to a licensed, controlled system of poppy cultivation for the production of medicines provides an interesting model for Afghanistan. Like Afghanistan, a significant sector of Turkey’s rural population made, and continues to make its living from the cultivation of poppy. In both countries, large rural communities play important roles, both politically and socially.Turkey’s transition to a system of licensed poppy cultivation was possible because all parties understood that total eradication was impracticable and only pragmatic solutions would resolve Turkey’s opium crisis. Ultimately, the solution came about with the help of the international community, and through a specific bilateral trade agreement with the United States. In a similar fashion, Afghanistan could be helped solve its opium problem through targeted development aid, technical support and the implementation of a system of licensed poppy cultivation in some of its rural areas

BUSINESS - Turkey top opium producer
Turkey’s opium poppy farms make up 54 percent of the total opium areas in the world, according to the average of the last five years’ data from the Turkish Grain Board (TMO), Anatolia news agency reported yesterday.[[[[[[ Nearly 70,000 Turkish farmers in 13 provinces are allowed to plant opium poppy and produce unscratched opium poppy capsules in a 700 million square meter area,]]]]]] a limit set by the United Nations. The global consumption of opiate, which is a chemical found naturally in the opium poppy plant and has uses for medical and scientific purposes, is nearly 350 tons per year. The largest importer of this substance, the United States, supplies 80 percent of its imports from Turkey and India.
Government-Controlled Opium Production Is Way of Life in Turkey
[ed notes:Turkish govt controlled means they are benefiting from it as is us govt..click link for whole piece, just citing few excerpts...the report mentions decades ago over 50-70 thousand turkish opium farmers, thats alot of opium (alot of money)...now im no genious but after it gained   ''special'' us licensing status and at that time(imagine at todays prices)the us adopted approach of importing 80% of it,how much was in turn distributed towards medicine, vs the (U.S. GOVT/ CIA)  heroin epidemic of the 70's- 2000's in united states cities?Turkey is possibly the U.S.'s second Colombia type colony giving it legalized access to such a  lucrative drug market(wich us and allies of course figth to monopolize)...im wondering  whos behind the turkish farmers associations in Turkey and their relations to ruling akp elites...(wish i spoke turkish),anyway on another note coca cola corporation  has a similar status regarding us Got Cocaine? ZIOCON FRONTS JAMESTOWN FOUNDATION AND EURASIA REVIEW ON UKRAINIAN WEAPONS AND SYRIAS CONFLICT.. Ukraine’s Arms to Syria Set to Grow, While Ukrainian Nationals Are Targeted by (US BACKED) Anti-Assad Forces http://www.jamestown.org/programs/edm/single/?tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=40251&cHash=dc1ee159354f36364d507f55fabde69d
President Viktor Yanukovych’s administration has been pragmatic about exporting arms to warring parties and states—including to those opposed by Russia (see EDM, April 17, May 15). In particular, Ukrainian-made weapons have been delivered to insurgents in Syria through (US BACKED) Saudi Arabian proxies. However, the Ukrainian foreign ministry denies supplying arms to the Syrian rebels (http://mfa.gov.ua/ua/press-center/briefing/1069-shhodo-informaciji-pro-ukrajinsyku-zbroju-v-siriji). Ukrainian arms shipments are likely to be part of a covert operation funded by Gulf Sunni supporters of the Syrian rebels. Weapons crates found in the Syrian city of Aleppo showed the arms were delivered from the Ukrainian port of Gostomel and exported by Dastan Engineering from LCW (Luhansk Cartridge Works), a major ammunition manufacturing plant in Luhansk. One of LCW’s main exports is the 7.62-mm cartridge used in AK-47 semi-automatic rifles, employed by both sides of the Syrian conflict (Ukrayinska Pravda, October 9). Despite the Ukrainian support they are receiving, Syrian rebels continue to confuse Ukraine with Russia (as both were part of the Soviet Union, a common confusion even in the West).By their clandestine nature, Ukrainian arms deliveries to the Syrian rebels resemble Ukrainian arms supplied to the Croatian army and Kosovo Albanian separatists in the 1990s as part of covert operations supported at the time by the United States. [[[[[More recently, in 2011–2012, the US and Germany respectively purchased 144,000 and 54,000 Ukrainian small arms for training purposes (Gorshenin Weekly, May 14). These could be meant for covert operations, the Soviet weapons providing the US with deniability as to the supplier. ]]]]]]

WSF Free Palestine, IJAN released Israel’s Worldwide Role in Repression,
a 28-page exposé focusing on the role of Israel’s government, military, and related corporations and organizations in a global industry of violence and repression. The booklet also shows that the states most involved with this industry profit from perpetual war and occupation across the globe while maintaining vastly unequal societies of their own.The pamphlet formed the basis of a 4-hour assembly on the role of Israel and Zionism in worldwide repression of social movements and communities of color. The assembly was held at the Social Forum in Porto Alegre. Throughout the assembly, which featured testimony from Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, South Africa, the U.S., Canada and Germany, we built relationships with activists in several parts of the world, particularly South America, which will help to expand the scope and reach of the project of documenting and exposing the specifics of Israel’s historical and ongoing role in worldwide repression. Sometestimony from this meeting will be on line soon. After the forum, we shared this project with activists in Argentina and Venezuela, who responded with interest in partnering on the project. In the coming months, we hope to work with our partners to evolve this assembly into rolling tribunals located in different communities around the world impacted by Zionism. For more information see the project website here.
Israel's new barrier with Syria: Another brick in the 'apartheid' wall ...
The walls around Israel are growing as the country’s army builds a new physical barrier, this time on its border with Syria. The wall will reportedly begin in the southern part of the occupied Golan Heights, extending north from there.Israel says the move is designed to safeguard its citizens from fallout from the conflict in war-torn Syria. Others say the wall is just a new installment in one of Israel's most recognizable tools of injustice.“It’s a wall of oppression. It’s a wall of segregation. It’s a wall of stealing the land of the people,” Jamal Juma, of the Stop the Wall movement, told RT. Juma says the wall will end up only remaining in place temporarily, as those who oppose it will stand up for their rights.“Walls around the world that have been built to suffocate and oppress people have fallen down. Why would the Israeli wall stay? We are not going to settle for it. We are not going to accept the system they are imposing on us,” he said.RT: Israel is citing the conflict in Syria and the rise of Islamist extremism there as its reasons. Doesn't Israel have a valid concern in this case?Jamal Juma: Israel has to recalculate what they’re doing in the Middle East. Israel tries all the time to build walls around itself, claiming that people hate them and target them. Israel has harmed the whole region around it. Israel is building a wall around Palestinian areas, claiming it’s for security – but it amounts to apartheid for the Palestinian people. They built a wall around Gaza and turned it into a jail – the biggest prison in the world. We know how devastating the situation in Gaza is.They still occupy parts of Syria, and are now building a wall on occupied land; they want to keep this land and keep themselves as occupiers. To keep building walls is not a solution. It needs to make peace with the region. In Syria and the Arab world, there are six million Palestinian refugees because of Israel. They have to solve the problem of the refugees, to give them the right to return to their homeland that has been taken from them. Israel cannot build its future at the expense of the people of the region. And building walls to protect themselves… walls are not going to protect the Israelis. People have rights, and they will keep claiming those rights.
RT: Israel's most visible wall is its barrier separating Israel from the Palestinians, while it's also building settlements in the area. Is there any possibility for compromise here?
JJ: You see how the building of settlements is escalating in the West Bank. Israel is building the settlements in a way to control the Palestinian people – this is going to destroy the possibility for Palestinians to have their own state and a normal life in the future. They lock the Palestinians into ghettos and reservations and they slice their areas so they are disconnected from each other. They are building a road system, and it’s apartheid because it’s two networks of roads separating them by tunnels and bridges, and they control this. They control the Palestinians within walls, with 34 checkpoints, or what they call “terminals.”RT: You clearly have a strong message. You’re from the Stop the Wall movement. Do you think your group will have a successful outcome, and will see the walls come down eventually?
JJ: Walls around the world that have been built to suffocate and oppress people have fallen. Why would the Israeli wall remain? It’s a wall of oppression. It’s a wall of segregation. It’s a wall to steal the land of the people. That’s why this wall won’t survive. The people will keep standing and resisting it, and it will fall. Israel created an apartheid system with this wall. The apartheid system failed in the twentieth century. Why would the Israeli system survive? We are struggling for human rights, our self-determination, our freedom, and ending this oppression that has been created by Israel. This is an element of that oppression, to keep control of the Palestinian people. We are not going to settle for this. We are not going to accept the system they are imposing on us.

Aktham Suliman’s Farewell to Al Jazeera
Aleppo, December 2012: An al-Jazeera correspondent had images relating to Syria that didn’t suit the station’s headquarters and which were not broadcast. This is no isolated incident.
“What do you regard as a terrorist attack and what as an act of legitimate resistance?” Nabil Khoury, the Lebanese-born spokesman for the U.S. State Department in Iraq, asked me one autumn day in Baghdad. His gaze was reproachful. At the time, Al Jazeera stood accused of supporting the violence in Iraq under occupation, in the eyes of American politicians and the media. “The matter is simple, Mr. Khoury,” I replied. “Actions that target U.S. military installations are resistance. Killing Iraqi civilians is terrorism.”

A hostage becomes a turncoat It was not the first incident. When Al Jazeera’s Japan correspondent, Fadi Salameh, came to Doha at the end of 2011 to help out for a month at the channel’s headquarters, colleagues asked him how he – as a Syrian – assessed or felt about their Syria coverage. He responded evasively with something like: So-so. And why was that? He said: well, the issue of accuracy is no longer taken as seriously as it ought to be, and mentioned the story of his cousin, who had been depicted as a deserter from the Syrian military only a few days earlier in a video broadcast on the channel. He was said to have defected to the Free Syrian army in a short recording placed online by the rebels. But that could well be true, replied a colleague. “Not at all.” Fadi replied. “That was a hostage video. The fear apparent on my cousin’s face, having just been captured by the rebels, was unmistakable.” Later Fadi went on to say that al-Jazeera now presumes to know better than one’s own family members what is happening to someone in Syria. “Only when I said that my cousin had disappeared two days before his wedding, were some people willing to reconsider,” Fadi said. “Thank God no one got the idea that the groom was trying to escape a forced marriage.” He doesn’t muster a laugh. His cousin never returned and is presumed dead. When the story was leaked to a Lebanese newspaper, this was the response from a person in charge at al-Jazeera: “Oh, those [damn] yellow papers…”
“This is an office of the Muslim Brotherhood”  Al-Jazeera has become the mother of invention: Those who have protested to the editorial board or turned their backs on the station are “supporters of the Syrian regime,” as Yaser al-Zaatra, the Jordanian author affiliated with the Islamist camp, wrote this spring in a guest article published on – it almost defies belief – al-Jazeera’s very own website. The attacks against its employees [waged] on its own website are meant to obscure the fact that Syria is not the core issue in this internal conflict, but rather the station’s lack of professionalism. Cairo’s al-Jazeera correspondent Samir Omer moved to Sky News earlier this year not because of Syria, but rather, as he told his colleagues: “Because I could not stand it anymore. This is no longer an Al-Jazeera office. This is an office of the Muslim Brotherhood” – in other words, the very group that is supported by Qatar in all Arab countries, and is heralded as the winner of the “Arab Spring.” Read on

Hezbollah Leader Vows to Protect Lebanon's Oil, Gas Resources
Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Movement Seyed Hassan Nasrallah said the movement is prepared to take necessary measures to protect the country's oil and gas resources. - "We call on the state to put forward a national strategic plan and if they want to leave it up to us, we are ready to defend Lebanon's fossil fuel resources," Nasrallah said in a televised speech on the occasion of Arbaeen, marking the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH). "In order to protect the national oil resources, the resistance is ready to do whatever is asked of it," Nasrallah said. He described the potential reserves as "a national, historic opportunity" to lift Lebanon from its socioeconomic crisis. Last year, the Hezbollah chief warned Zionist regime against attempts aimed at plundering Lebanon's offshore gas and oil reserves and threatened to target Israel's oil installations in case Lebanon's oil facilities were attacked.
Syria and climate change,a report from the west.. http://www.worldwatch.org/syria’s-drought-and-climate-upheaval-2
Primarily affected by the lack of rainfall was the country’s northeast, which accounts for 75 percent of total wheat production in Syria. The 2011 Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction notes that since the start of the drought, close to 75 percent of agriculture-dependent households in the northeast have suffered total crop failure. Prior to the drought, Syria’s agriculture sector accounted for 40 percent of the country’s workforce and 25 percent of gross domestic product. Some 2–3 million people have been pushed into extreme poverty by a combination of lack of crop income and the need to sell livestock at 60–70 percent below cost. Syria’s livestock herd has been decimated from 21 million to an estimated 14–16 million. This calamity is the result of a number of factors. Climate change is joined by resource mismanagement, including the overexploitation of groundwater (due to subsidies for water-thirsty crops such as cotton and wheat), inefficient irrigation systems, and over-grazing.The drought has led to an exodus of hundreds of thousands of people from rural to urban areas. Syria’s cities were already under economic stress, in part because of the large-scale influx of refugees from Iraq after the U.S. invasion of 2003. Growing numbers of destitute people find themselves in intense competition for scarce jobs and access to resources. In an analysis in early 2012, Francesco Femia and Caitlin Werrell write that “the role of disaffected rural communities in the Syrian opposition movement has been prominent compared to their equivalents in other ‘Arab Spring’ countries. Indeed, the rural farming town of Dara’a was the focal point for protests in the early stages of the opposition movement last year – a place that was especially hard hit by five years of drought and water scarcity, with little assistance from the al-Assad regime.
[ed notes:key points, the lack of rainfall ,and the most important point ....the Large influx of iraqi refugees hosted by Syrian govt created by u.s. invasion/occupation of Iraq exacerbated the problem and economic woes wich led to protests!!!Question:is it Assads fault there was unusual lack of rainfall?sure Assads economic policies can and  should be scrutinized as well, but shouldnt he get credit and support for taking in massive numbers of displaced Iraqis(they wre given citizenship and free healthcare) who fled us destroyed Iraq?this report wont dig into these questions of course, because they dont support Assad, but one should question why the poor rural Syrians who were affected by the drougth dont take into consideration the effects of us policy in region and the burdens it placed on the Syrian state and themselves as a result.Should Assad not have taken them in?was that not the humanitarian thing to do?considering the fsa and external terrorist states sponsoring them and other terror rebel factions wich are destroying Syria with the support of us govt, its ironic to me,that these people themselves who obviously felt no solidarity with Iraqi refugees in turn themselves will become refugees...p.s. i do not endorse the people behind the report ,site or writer btw..
Pakistan’s ‘Jewish Problem!’
Joffe while praising India’s tolerance toward Jewish community – ignored the fact that Adolf Hitler is considered a ‘hero’ in India. Hindus have produced movies, TV shows and named stores to glorify him. On April 20, 2009, British daily Telegraph had reported that Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’ is the best seller in India with 10.000 copies sold in New Delhi alone. An average of 40,000 Israeli Jews visit India annually. However, Israelis are despised most among the foreign tourists because they bring drugs, nudity, prostitution and create filth wherever they stay or hold parties.Even though, the US Justice Department, the State Department and Supreme Court are overcrowded with Jews and Zionists, Joffe complains that the “immunity” for the two Jew-hating Pakistani officials shows that “there is no justice for Jews in America”.

NY Jewish couple with explosive, are not terrorists!
In my previous post, I quoted Jewish journalist Alex Joffe with the Jewish Ideas Daily complaining that there was no justice for Jews in United States. Here is an interesting twist to the truth. On January 1, 2013, New York City police reported they found bomb-making material and a “Terrorist Encycloprdia” at the home of rich Jewish couple, Harvard graduate Aaron Greene 31 and his pregnant girlfriend Morgan Gliedman 27, daughter of Dr. Paul Gliedman, director of radiation oncology at the Beth Israel Hospital, Brookyln and Susyan Schops Gliedman, a top realtor.Police also discovered a flare launcher that replicates a grenade launcher, a modified 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun, ammunition and nine high-capacity rifle magazines, reported by the New York Post. The police entered couple’s apartment at 8 West 9th Street with search warrant steming from a case of credit card-theft which Gliedman was allegedly wanted for.Now if police have found all this stuff in the possession on a Muslim couple – what you think they’re upto? But since the two culprits have the “privileged background” – the Jewish-controlled media came-up with conspiracy theories blaming NYPD for harassing innocent young Jewish couple. The Post quoted a neighbor calling the couple just “hippie types”.

Humanitarian cover
Senegal/Mali-based journalist Peter Tinti writes that debates in Washington over the US approach to counterterrorism in Africa have more to do with “keeping policy frameworks apace with practice” than actually shaping that practice:“Under the Obama administration, U.S. military operations in Africa have rapidly expanded in scope, depth and breadth, creating a skeletal infrastructure that enables a panoply of near-constant training exercises with partner governments — as well as clandestine activities.Though Camp Lemmonier in Djibouti is technically the only permanent U.S. military base in Africa, in reality, there are hundreds of military outposts and locations dotting the continent, with several thousand uniformed U.S. military and civilian Department of Defense personnel, as well as an unknown number of defense contractors, working across the continent at any one time. U.S. special operations forces regularly work within civil-affairs and humanitarian assignments that provide cover for covert counterterrorism activities.”

Banned exports..Zionist Canada and arms to war torn Colombia!
The Canadian government has offered its arms merchants “new market opportunities” by allowing them to export to Colombia assault weapons banned in Canada:“Now, Colombia has been added to a list that includes Canada’s 27 NATO allies – along with Australia, Finland, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Sweden and Botswana – where prohibited firearms manufactured in this country may be sold. The government notice says the amendment is ‘consistent with the aim of the [Automatic Firearms Country Control List] to promote transparency in the export and transfer of prohibited firearms, prohibited weapons and prohibited devices by making public that Canada will now consider export permit applications for the export of those items to Colombia.’ ”
