Israeli security sources threatened Southern Lebanon with an extensive military operation if there is a deterioration in the security situation in the region; the surprising Israeli threat to Lebanon came days after the end of the exercise conducted by Israel which was called "turning point 5." The Israeli radio quoted these sources saying that "Hezbollah" made the majority of villages in southern Lebanon "explosive villages." Israel had claimed that it finally discovered the means of combat, command headquarters, and fortifications of the party within the villages in southern Lebanon.
It explained that "if Israel launched an offensive into southern Lebanon, they will seek as much as possible to reduce the incidence of civilian casualties, and will be publish with the means available and at the appropriate time, guidance for civilians to evacuate their homes in order to save their lives."
It noted that the various Lebanese parties were particularly interested in the exercise "turning point 5", which was supervised by the home front last week, especially "Hezbollah" and the Lebanese media. The Lebanese parties followed the stages of the exercise with anticipation too, amid fears that it would be exploited by Israel to launch an attack on "Hezbollah”.
