Members of the Puerto Rican Hostosian National Independence Movement (MINH in Spanish) are trying to be represented within the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), said from Cuba the MINH leader Nestor Nazario.“Those who fight against the colonial condition of our island look optimism the regional integration process that will be soon consolidated with the constitution of the CELAC,” he said.
In statements to the National Information Agency (AIN), Nazario explained that his organization has expressed its interest to the governments in the region on achieving some degree of presence of the Puerto Rican people within the multinational organ, as guest or observer, for instance.“Puerto Rico knows that it must liberate itself from the imperialist domain, but it needs the support of its friends, because Puerto Rico is facing the largest power country in history,” Nazario added. The CELAC is expected to be formally constituted in the second semester of this year.
