30 Dissents from Future Movement, Larger Group Preparing to Leave
http://www.english.moqawama.org/essaydetails.php?eid=22117&cid=274Al-Akhbar Lebanese daily revealed Monday that "30 young cadres and supporters from the Future movement in the Bekaa met in Dir Znon region [Barr Elias] and announced their dissent from the movement."According to the daily, the Future dissenters harshly criticized their leadership. This came as they failed to deliver their messages directly to the Western and Eastern Bekaa centers. The messages included remarks on the Future political and organizational performance.Suleiman Arafat, described as one of the "Future strike ground forces in the central Bekaa", stated that "the attempts to deliver our voice to the Central Command in Beirut failed.""We received a negative response," he said, and noted that: "the Future movement left us alone after the 2009 elections."He further accused the Future movement of not caring of its supporters, "although we were committed to its candidates on the basis of political development promises.""We voted for seven deputies, whom we do not see their faces," Arafat mentioned. The former Future leader also unveiled that they gathered and decided to leave the Future Movement. "There is another larger group i.e. preparing to leave," he said, adding that the problem " is that the Future abandoned us.""We do not see any of them, but when they ask us to cut roads and hit with the sticks," Arafat lamented. In parallel, he revealed that " after the assassination of Gen. Wissam al-Hassan, the Future leadership asked us to move into streets and burn tires.""Two days later, we were investigated and none of the Future officials asked or cared for us," Arafat confirmed.Similarly, another dissent, Hussein Assi, accused the movement of using a wooden language with its followers. "We no longer understand them and they do not understand us," he told al-Akhbar.Moreover, he stressed that the group did not split for financial reasons, despite the fact that most of the dissidents were employed in security companies belonging to the Future Movement.Source: al-Akhbar daily, Translated and Edited by moqawama.org
