President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Iran and Cuba are fighting at the same front against international Imperialism and the arrogance of the bullying powers. President Ahmadinejad made the remark at a meeting with Cuban Vice President Esteban Lazo Hernandez in Tehran on Sunday.'Iran, Cuba and other freedom-seeking and independent countries will defend the rights of nations vis-a-vis international Imperialism and global arrogance,' he added.President Ahmadinejad emphasized the necessity for cooperation between Tehran and Havana in cultural, economic, political and scientific fields.
'Islamic Republic of Iran will resist beside justice-seeking and independent nations until gaining ultimate victory. We are ready to transfer our experience in different areas to these countries,' he added. Referring to the importance of increasing cooperation between Iran and Cuba, President Ahmadinejad noted that Iran and Cuba can play a key role in rectifying the world's oppressive relations to the benefit of peace and justice. Cuban Vice President Esteban Lazo Hernandez for his part said that Iran would play a very important role in the future of Latin America.
'Cuba is pursuing enhanced relations with Iran vis-à-vis the US. Havana is not afraid of Washington's threats in this regard,' Lazo Hernandez added. He noted that Iran is a main trade partner of Cuba. We are trying to boost our relations with Iran in different areas, especially economic and commercial fields,' Lazo Hernandez added. Referring to the fact that enemies are angry about consolidated ties between Iran and Cuba, he pointed out that enemies by resorting to different means are trying to prevent close cooperation between Tehran and Havana, but their efforts are doomed.
