The Popular Committee in Khan Younis has held the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) responsible for the ongoing health situation in Khan Younis refugee camp.In a statement, the PCKY called on UNRWA to fulfill its obligations under Resolution 302 of the UN General Assembly with regards to the occupied Palestinian territories.Palestinians have recently become disgruntled at the rapid decline in services UNRWA has provided for the Palestinian refugees. PCKY warned that this time UNRWA has gone too far in its decline of services, as the lives of the refugee camp’s residents have become endangered.For about a week, mounting trash has not been removed from containers in the camp and its roads, causing waste to pile.The situation has led to an contaminated environmental condition in addition to having very bad psychological and health effects on those who live there, the children and elderly in particular, the PCKY said.
