Ahmadinejad: Iran the only nation that dared to criticize US http://ilna.ir/fullstory.aspx?ID=123508

"The world powers should further know that we will not retreat even one millimeter from our [nuclear] path and legitimate rights," Ahmadinejad said in the speech given in Yasouj in southern Iran. Iran rejects Western allegations over it’s nuclear activities and insists it has the right to pursue peaceful nuclear development. "The world powers are even ignoring rules made by themselves," Ahmadinejad said.

Referring to his visit to New York and attendance at the NPT review conference earlier this month, he said Iran was the only nation that dared to criticize US nuclear policies. hmadinejad told the UN General Assembly that the US was the first country to use an atomic weapon when it dropped bombs on Japan in 1945, and accused the US of stockpiling half of the estimated 23,000 warheads in existence in the world.

"The Iranian nation dared to criticize the US nuclear policies on its own soil and broke a taboo. Soon other nations will follow and, like Iran, also stand against the US hegemony," Ahmadinejad said. He referred to Iran as the "fortification of all oppressed nations" and predicted the gradual downfall of what he called US imperialism. "The US should end its policies and in the first place leave Afghanistan and Iraq," the Iranian president said.

"The US should also listen to the advice from Iran on how to get out of the mud, otherwise they could one day even lose their way back home," he added.  Ahmadinejad said ''Iranian nation believes in logic, justice, cooperation, friendship and constructive approach, he said if the US and the western countries had adopted a fair approach based on mutual respect, the Iranian nation would welcome them.'' "The bullying powers will collapse one after another. It will be to the benefit of world pious and justice-seeking nations."
