Ambassador to France Lamia Shakkour refuted allegations reported by some Arab and foreign satellite channels about her resignation from her post, describing the report as completely false and untrue. She said this news comes within the framework of the misleading media campaign against Syria.“I am so irritated with this false news which appeared on some Arab and foreign channels…It is part of the tendentious misleading propaganda which aims at one thing, that is to undermine Syria’s credibility,” said Ambassador Shakkour in a phone call to the Syrian TV.

“Nothing in the world is more valuable than this Homeland…and nobody can question the loyalty of any honest Syrian citizen. I am an integral part of this Homeland and people and of its representatives in the Syrian parliament and government,” Shakkour added.

She stressed that she is currently Syria’s Ambassador to France and that she will continue to be so as long as she is able to perform her national duty.Shakkour said that this blatant attempt at doubting loyalty to Homeland is decisive evidence on the misinformation campaign conducted by some media including Arab, European, American and other foreign media.“In the coming hours I will give a statement in French on the most watched and popular French channel to disclaim this news,” said the Syrian Ambassador, pointing out that she will seek legal action against FRANCE 24 channel for this misinformation.
