TEHRAN (INIC)- Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) released the most recent statistical data on scientific production of the country in different fields of nano science and technology by late 2011.
According to the report, Iran holds the 12th position in the world ranking list of the year 2011 in nanotechnology scientific production with a total number of 2,998 journal publications.
Iran has also ranked 18th in world during 2000-2011 in the field with a total number of 8,146 published scientific articles. The United States and China top the list with 129,280 and 125,877 journal papers to their records, respectively. Japan is located in the third rank with a 51,430 research papers in its portfolio.Iran’s h-index value, as an efficient indicator for measuring the scientific quality, has jumped up to 19 in 2010.INIC has launched a website which keeps tracking the current status of nanotechnology within Iran and more than 100 countries based on statistical data (specifically scientific and technological indices).
