A detective from the Department of Administrative Security (DAS) of Colombia revealed that the DAS body developed an illegal espionage against the diplomatic missions of Cuba, Ecuador and Venezuela, which included activity "following the ambassadors of those nations." According to the DAS agent, who was interviewed on condition of anonymity, the program counter on the May 3, by the Colombian journalist Hollman Morris, the institution of intelligence "made a number of  investigations, the most important had to do with the subject of spying throughout the whole Latin American left. " 

He explained that the illegal investigations were conducted against "governments like Venezuela, Ecuador, Cuba including Islam,in a project that is called a mega-project, led by a group from the same group (...) wich is also linked with follow-up and intercepts the honorable judges of the Supreme Court of Colombia" The Colombian DAS is involved in scandals such as  illegal spying, the nation's scandal is known as "pikes" and were aimed against journalists, judges and opposition politicians.

A long list of complaints against the Colombian intelligence agency, is joined this time by the infiltration of embassies in neighboring countries. "The working structure of the leaks was through human sources or people outside such as  detectives who followed the ambassadors from these nations (Cuba, Venezuela and Ecuador)," said the official, DAS detective, interviewed by Contravía whose statements were reproduced in a radial space of Ecuador Immediate. 

The agent described that  the group was created to spy on the embassies by wich they  "infiltrated various meetings, usually recruited human sources from other countries, infiltrated also thru the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's) in these countries also." He also revealed that "all this (the illegal activities mentioned above) was aired on several records for the Office of Disciplinary Control Panel. He said that there is a "file linking senior politicians of the national policy and even the current director of the DAS (...) That record is 228, 2009, that record is in the Office of Internal Disciplinary Control." 

The agent who serves as investigator, said officials of espionage mmbers of the group  are "very nervous and  I was told they were bound by a high authorities  to perform these activities, which were very fearful of the statements that they  were giving to me as a researcher" . " They were threatened,they  told me in detail within the research I have just named, as they fulfilled their secret missions , they infiltrated meetings and private parties, Meetings, Committees, among other activities being carried out by embassies. 

"When these investigations  started Dr. Felipe Muñoz (Director of DAS)felt so uncomfortable that ee felt that he was airing a national security issue, but  wasnt worried that finding  was an issue of violation of fundamental rights on international level, "he said. On Monday, the director of DAS, Felipe Muñoz,asked Colombian prosecutors to investigate further the former detectives investigating these matters  that had information on the follow-up to politicians, journalists and judges of high courts targeted.

According to Munoz, 116 officials of the DAS have been dismissed in the last 16 months for corruption or because they lost confidence. "Some of them have criminal complaints against then with the prosecutor more or less  35 percent, about 40 people, and the rest left for loss of trust within the institution," said Felipe Munoz.For its part, the Colombian journalist Hollman Morris, during an interview with the radio show of Ecuador Immediate in a reproduction of its  research, said that the 

"secret intelligence of the secret police known as DAS, which is directly responsible under President of the Republic (Alvaro Uribe), since 2003  it was devoted to persecute all those who think differently or opposed the  President Alvaro Uribe. " He added "that what the Colombian prosecutors say , not Hollman Morris." He charged that the group of illegal spying DAS "orders were to sabotage these people to steal their visas, to neutralize their actions and above all orders were given to threaten them ."
