The West is developing a plan of unification of the South Caucasus into an United States of Caucasus. The leader of the New Times party Aram Karapetyan said about it at a news conference in Yerevan."Realizing that the conflicts in South Caucasus should not be left in the form in which they are today, and that it makes no sense to continue talks on the logic on which they were conducted so far, some circles in the international politics are trying to integrate the Caucasian republics, including Abkhazia, Nagorno-Karabakh and South Ossetia, into an European space, to create in the region a some union education, which can be called "The United States of Caucasus", with its capital in Tbilisi", said Karapetyan.
