An official with the Lebanese foreign ministry said the west was seeking colonial goals by equipping Israel with nuclear weapons.Muhammad al-Hejar was speaking to Qudsna on the sidelines of a two day international conference on disarmament and non proliferation in Teheran Monday.He said the root cause of all problems in the region, namely instability, was the world power’s colonial policies as they seek to turn the regional countries into markets for their products.He urged the regional countries to join hand and put an end to the colonial policies and the military sovereignty of Israel.

A Swedish professor told Qudsna Monday that Israel has used excessive US and EU supports to dodge acceding to the NPT.Gunnar Westberg, a professor with Gutenberg University was speaking to Qudsna on the sidelines of a two day international conference on disarmament and non proliferation in Teheran Monday.  Also member of Swe3dish association for prevention of nuclear war, Westberg slammed US and EU for their excessive support to the regime and said Israel must accede to the NPT.“Americans claim nuclear weapons are used for defensive matters. The question is why Israel must be an exception concerning accession to the NPT,” he said.
