The manager of the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone's customs office said here Tuesday that some five billion dollars of non-oil commodities has been exported from this zone in the past Iranain calendar year. Ahmad Pourheydar said this figure has had 31 percent increase in terms of value compared with that of the preceding year. Iran's Nowrouz (new year) starts on March 21. The Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) was established in 1998 for the utilization of South Pars oil and gas resources and encouraging commercial activities in the fields of oil, gas and petrochemical industries. This zone is located on the Persian Gulf coast, 300 km east of the port of Bushehr, 570km west of the port of Bandar Abbas and approximately 100 km away from the South Pars Gas Field.
