Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini currently in Algeria Saturday met with the country’s heroine, Djamila Boupacha, who praised Iranians' resistance against the US hegemony. Hosseini is currently in Algeria to attend a ceremony on announcing its Tlemcen city as the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World. Boupacha is the Algerian nationalist and veteran freedom-fighter who is now a writer.She opposed the French colonialism during Algeria's war for independence (1954-62) and was tortured while she was in jail. She was later released when Algeria announced its independence from France in 1961. 

The Iranian minister invited Boupacha to visit Iran in the future to become closely familiar with the achievements made by Iranians despite all problems brought about by the US during Iran’s post-revolution era. Meanwhile, the Algerian nationalist said, for her part, that the Islamic Revolution of Iran has become a turning point at the contemporary world’s history. She added that Iranians' resistance against the US expansionism and its pressures has inspired other Muslim nations and become a source for their self-reliance.
