Bahraini Activist: US Seeking to Spark Sectarian Strife in Regional Nations to Contain Revolutions http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=9002061020
A prominent Bahraini right activist on Tuesday cautioned that Washington and Israel are trying to harness revolutions in the Middle-East and North Africa through sparking sectarian strife in the regional countries, specially in Bahrain. Speaking in an interview with FNA, Abbas al-Omran elaborated on the main cause of the Saudi and Bahraini forces' actions against peaceful protests and destruction of mosques and holy shrines and burning the holy Quran in the tiny Persian Gulf island. He said that the US and Israel have ordered the Al-Khalifa regime to destroy mosques and shrines and burn the holy Quran in the hope that they could control the Bahraini people's revolution through such violent and threatening reactions.
"I believe that the US and the Zionist regime (of Israel) are trying to sow tension in the region thought the Al-Khalifa's destruction of mosques and shrines," the Bahraini activist noted.
Omran stated that the US and Israel are seeking to suppress the Bahrainis since the Bahraini people's revolution is the next link in the chain of the popular Arab revolutions which started in Tunisia and Egypt and led to the collapse of two dictatorial regimes. However, Omran stressed that the Bahraini people will continue their revolution and insist on their stances irrespective of all the suppressive methods used by the Bahraini and Saudi forces. Bahraini security forces are using inhumane tactics, including various torture techniques, to suppress the popular uprising in the Persian Gulf state.
