Hitler birthday bash bombed http://www.examiner.com/conservative-in-national/hitler-birthday-bash-bombed

In Lyons, Illinois, a small town of about 10,000 people in southwest Cook County - several miles outside of Chicago - a Saturday evening birthday party celebrating the birth of Adolph Hilter was disrupted by a smoke bomb, according to the Chicago Tribune. The party was being held at P.J. Klem's Restaurant and Banquet Hall at 8000 West Ogden Avenue in Lyons when the bomb went off and the Lyons Police evacuated the building. The premises remained closed so that the Cook County Sheriff's police bomb squad could do a search of the building.  The party was organized by Art Jones,

the chariman of the America First Committee. The party included a cake that said 'Happy Birthday Adolph Hitler' and Nazi banners. The party was also a celebration of the anniversary of the start of the Civil War. The Civil War portion of the celebration likely explains another cake which sported the phrase: 'The South was Right - White Men Fight.' Purportedly, some 60 persons were attending a combined celebrations.  Authorities say that a man entered the restaurant with a backpack, ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, and then went into a restroom and ignited the smoke bomb. They also report that no injuries or damage occurred.

The general manager of the eating establishment, Pete Klemetzos, claims he didn't know what the party was for when it was scheduled weeks ago. He also said the same group has rented the banquet hall previously and held peaceful gatherings. According to the Chicago Tribune report, although banners bearing swastikas were displayed, Klem's manager Klemetzos said:  There was no 'Heil Hitler' or anything like that.
