The Islamic Republic of Iran on Saturday hailed action taken by Iraqi government against Mojahedeen-e-Khalq grouplet (Monafeqin) based there which saw deadly clashes between Baghdad's forces and the terrorist group."The presence of any terrorist organisation on Iraqi soil, to use it as a launchpad and to conduct operations against Iraq's neighbours, is not accepted by Iraq's own constitution," Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi told in a press conference."Iraqis must not allow activities of such groups and not shelter such terrorist groups. We appreciate the move by the Iraqi government," Salehi said.

Salehi also praised Iraqi government's measure in dealing with terrorist group of Mujahidin Khalq (MKO) and said, "based on Iraqi constitution and recent decisions made by Iraqi judicial officials, presence of any terrorist group inside Iraq to use soil of the country for measure against neighboring state is banned and the Iraqi system's decision which is praised by us is an act to implement the constitution and judicial decisions."He was responding to clashes between the Iraqi security forces and the Mojahedeen-e-Khalq terrorist grouplet who remain based at Camp Ashraf north of Baghdad.At least three people were killed on Friday when Iraqi troops clashed with stone-throwing crowds at the camp, an Iraqi security official said.
