Sanctions-Hit Iran Sells Gasoline Shipment to Iraq http://www.dailystar.com.lb/Apr/13/Sanctions-hit-Iran-sells-gasoline-shipment-to-Iraq-traders.ashx
Iran has struck a deal to sell gasoline to Iraq in April, trade sources said Tuesday, but added that the rare shipment did not mean Tehran is free of its dependency on gasoline imports.“Iran offered 20,000 tons and 30,000 tons from Lavan and Bandar Abbas respectively … They managed to sell 25,000 tons and it went to Iraq,” one trade source said. Three trade sources confirmed the deal. Iran was a major gasoline importer before the U.S.-led sanctions scared off its regular suppliers. A lack of refining capacity means the world’s fifth-largest crude exporter had to import up to 40 percent of its gasoline needs.
