Update...Zionist Organization of America has launched an attack on Rutgers faculty and staff..threat of violence has followed...By: Shehnaz Abdeljaber

Dear Friends,On April 8th the Zionist Organization of America sent out a press release detailing events that have been falsely called 'anti-semetic' they have also pointed their fingers at Deans and staff members, myself included. the letter has since been reposted on various blogs, ALL of which are right-wing and neo conservative..Pamella Gellar, a well known racist blogger has also posted it to her website...exposing my name and my colleagues' names to possible people who have the potential to harm us. On April 9th I get an email threatening violence against me and all Muslims on campus. RUPD is investigating this crime...we need to stand together and write President McCormick...

let him know we will not allow our university to become a hotbed for hostile attacks and lies against ANY member of Rutgers. These purely fictitious tales have brought threats of violence and will continue if we don't demand that our university take action against those who have perpetrated these lies. Since then, I have secured my home and watch my children very carefully. I have been physically, emotionally and psychologically exhausted. I remain strong, though. I am tired of the attacks and believe President McCormick should issue a strong statement dispelling these false accusations. There are many faculty, staff and students that have been VERY supportive throughout this ordeal...yet, we need to send letters to President McCormick and let him know we will not allow individuals to spread hate against Muslims, Arabs or anyone--regardless of their background.

I will not stand by and wait for these dispicable lies to end up hurting someone before something is done. If you ever cared about anything, please care about this...it is very serious. Ask your freinds, family and all those you know to support a safe space at Rutgers, one that will not be filled with vile language and attacks that incite violence against Muslims and Arabs. Let him know if you are as student, alumni, faculty, staff, mother, father etc...let him know we come from all walks of life...and we care...Tell President McCormick to issue a statement that will stand with the side of truth and justice.President McCormick  president@rutgers.edu
