Former army chief of Pakistan Monday accused US and its allies of creating new turmoil in North Africa saying that their ‘expected military glory in Libya is elusive, as it is in Iraq and Afghanistan’. Speaking to IRNA, General (Retd) Mirza Aslam Beg added that the so called big powers were after their own interests which were based on dominance over other nations. “It appears that Obama is looking for another Kosovo or Kuwait, although Libya is altogether a different ballgame”, Aslam Beg said. He believed that the oppressors of the world have to give a chance to peace. 

The former general added that America and the West were only after the Libyan oil and water resources. “They want to destroy the infrastructure of Libya and take control of the country”, he argued. General (Retd) Aslam Beg said that another Muslim country has been invaded by the same arrogant power. He added what was happening was the continuation of the last 30 years of state-sponsored terrorism against the world of Islam. According to the general, the war against Libya would become another misadventure for US. “It would be a failure”, he stressed.
