A senior Iranian armed forces commander warned the western states of the dire consequences of a Libyan-style military intervention in Syria, saying that the move would put an end to the US and the Zionist regime's existence.Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi told reporters here in Tehran on Wednesday that the western powers speaking of "using a Libyan-style tactic (for Syria) in a bid to intimidate the Syrian rulers and undermine Syria's standing," and they don't really mean to exercise this tactic in Syria. He lauded Syria's resistance against Israel during the last three decades, and noted that Damascus is backing Palestine as a frontline of confrontation with the Quds occupying regime (Israel). "If they (westerners) attack the front of confrontation against the Quds occupying regime, all Muslims will rise, and under such conditions there will remain no US and no Zionist regime anymore," Firouzabadi cautioned.
