Jordan Islamic Action Front: recognize Syrian opposition  http://www.dailystar.com.lb/News/Middle-East/2011/Nov-16/154284-jordan-islamic-action-front-recognize-syrian-opposition.ashx#axzz1e3fVl3mo  AMMAN: Jordan's main Islamist party on Wednesday called on the government to recognize the Syrian National Council, a confederation of most political movements opposed to the regime of Bashar al-Assad.In a letter to Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh, the leader of the Islamic Action Front, Hazmeh Mansoor, called on Jordan to "recognize the Syrian National Council as representative of the Syrian people."Mansoor said official recognition of the council was in line with decisions made by the Arab League "as a way to pressure the regime to obey terms of the Arab initiative and to protest the vicious attack against the Jordanian embassy" in Damascus on Monday.In the letter, posted on the party's website, Mansoor reiterated the IAF demand that the government recall its ambassador to Syria.The party, which is the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan, noted that the Assad regime continued to exert excessive force, provoking the losses of thousands of innocent lives.
