Iranian MP Asks US to Present Corroborative Evidence to Prove Allegations http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=9007161151
"If Americans claim that they have evidence for the assassination of the Saudi envoy, they should present it since we are 100% assured of ourselves," Head of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi told reporters on the sidelines of an open session of the parliament here on Sunday. The legislator further pointed out that "the CIA and Mossad will certainly try to fabricate documents to prove their allegations against Iran, but reality is something else. He also noted that the US administration is seeking to divert the public opinion from the realities and the easiest way to do this is fabricating scenarios against Iran.
Asked if Iran and the US have held any meeting to discuss the accusations, the lawmaker dismissed the US officials' claims that they have had such a meeting. "The contemporary world is the age of the explosion of information and nothing can remain hidden and covert. Therefore, if Americans allege that they have conducted negotiations (with the Iranian officials), they should announce very clearly where and how the talks were held," Boroujerdi reiterated. Tehran had also earlier denied that government officials had direct contact with the US over allegations it plotted to kill the Saudi ambassador on US soil. Alireza Miryousefi, a spokesman at Iran's UN mission, told Iranian media there was "no direct contact between the two countries".
A US state department spokeswoman insisted on Friday that the meeting had taken place without providing any further detail.Hours later on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast dismissed the US allegations as a prefabricated scenario which is totally unfounded. "Such worn-out approaches which are based on the old hostile policies of the American-Zionist axis are a humorous act and part of the special scenarios staged and pursued by the enemies of Islam and the region to sow discord (among Muslims)," Mehman-Parast said. The spokesman, who condemned all terrorist attacks, further said, "Those who have worked out such prefabricated scenarios are after no goal but fomenting strife (among Muslims) and helping the Zionist regime to come out of isolation."
