Iranians stage rally before UK embassy http://www.isna.ir/ISNA/NewsView.aspx?ID=News-1887521&Lang=E  Iranians staged popular demonstration before the UK embassy in Tehran on Wednesday to protest against cutting trees of a garden near the embassy.The marchers were carrying placards which read "There is no place for the old fox of colonialism in Gholhak Garden" and "Death to Britain."They also called for the UK embassy to stop cutting trees in the garden. It came after British embassy has started cutting trees to build property.Reports say TV footage taken from homes in the Gholhak Garden's neighborhood show the UK embassy planning to build new properties in the garden.Earlier, Tehran Mayor had said that he would launch legal proceedings against the British embassy for destroying the garden by cutting and burning down at least 300 trees.Mayor Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf had said Britain's disregard for the environment at the compound in Tehran's Gholhak neighborhood is an example of its historic hostility towards Iran."One of the darkest cases in the Iranian people's historical memories pertains to the British government, and [this] hostile behavior can also be seen at the Gholhak compound," said Qalibaf.
