COLOMBIA WATCH- USO unionist murdered in Puerto Gaitan, Meta
Oil worker was killed on Milton Rivas Enrique Parra in Puerto Gaitán (Meta) where oil extracted transnational Colombian Pacific Rubiales.
César Luque / Wednesday December 12, 2012
For those who thought that in the final stage of the year, they could not spend more misery to the Colombian working class, the sad reality tells us otherwise. Today in front of the company premises TERMOTECNICA for which provided services in the municipality of Puerto Gaitan (Meta) was shot dead by gunmen, the oil worker Enrique Rivas Milton Parra, member of the Workers' Trade Union (USO), after receiving the day before death threats from a man who threatened to lead the Permanent Assembly develop many workers in the region, and belonging to the USO union that has led the organization in the region, highlighting the transnational Pacific Rubiales, not be for you, or for me, as they say its thousands of advertisements on television, internet, radio and print, as well as sports tournaments, but for violating the smallest labor rights of those who work for her or companies used to evade their responsibility work. This murder is attached to the long chain of death in 2012 was tinged with blood red Colombian labor movement, which makes sterile and keeping the list of those killed in the union world and arrive almost twenty but in the world of all workers, totaling hundreds in almost all regions of the country. The killing of oil workers in that area shows that the armed forces are still pursuing those who stand up  to demand their rights, or of the entire working class, while the national government, outside boasts that nothing of the sort happens here .This death, which joins the long list of unionists killed in the country, came after last week Senator Alternative Democratic Pole, Alexander Lopez visited the region in order to observe the real work that is home to thousands of Colombians suffering, exploited, while Pacific Rubiales take our oil out of the country, while the rest of Colombians paid the most expensive gasoline throughout the Americas, including countries with no oil.The paradox, or rather side shows who are the country's armed estates, is that this area is militarized several years to contain the protests of workers exploited, as in the days of the banana in Cienaga (Magdalena) on 1928, but did nothing to prevent the murder of fellow worker, blood action seeks not only weaken the USO, but subject it to terror as many workers in the region not to protest the exploitation they are subjected, even with the blessing of some spurious unions serving the capital. As reported by the USO, the worker killed had worked for the company that serves JM Mounts Pacific Rubiales, highlighted by his leadership and strong support for the struggles of his peers in the region. These facts should serve for us to start thinking about the nationalization of our natural resources for their economic fruits serve the country, starting with workers who exploit them, and all Colombians, who are the rightful owners through the Colombian State and not to enrich a few TNCs are brought into the country by a political class that has neither class nor in politics, but the ultimate goal is to sell the future of Colombia, and as the new generations, we can not permit, must stand up against this order, which is not a natural order, but imposed by the mediocre bourgeoisie, that only thinks about its own future, but not at all Colombians. The death of fellow oil worker full of sorrow to his family, his companions, all members of the USO, and generally should fill us with sadness to all Colombians, which unfortunately is not the case, since many are already engaged parties, and consumerism of foreign products, which will bring more poverty in the country, without even stopping to think about what is happening. This assassination joins decision as harmful to the country, such as the creation of a military court, which creates impunity for the most heinous crimes, committed by,and also those who make up the members of the armed forces, including the so-called "false positives "that are nothing more than murders of protected persons, and also the approval of the Tax Reform decreasing taxes to be paid by the big multinationals and increases to be paid by middle and lower classes of Colombian society, in services as necessary as food in restaurants called "electrical shock", to be paid 8% of consumption tax, to take just one example, decisions taken by the government majority in Congress, grouped in the so-called National Unity, composed of the Games Social National Unity, or U, Cambio Radical, Conservative, Liberal, Green, and National Integration (PIN), which continue to legislate  against the countrys interests.
