Washington on Monday named former Minister Michel Samaha as a "global terrorist" and froze his assets in the US. A statement by the US Treasury Department said the US now considers Samaha a "global terrorist" and accused him of working on sapping Lebanon's stability. Samaha, 64, was arrested on August 9 by Lebanese authorities and accused of transferring explosives from Syria into Lebanon.
