The World Russian People's Council has expressed solidarity with Syria and Libya against US and European measures.In a statement issued on Monday, the Council said the G8 countries seek to re-impose neo-colonialism, justifying for themselves the role of arbiter in the internal affairs of countries.During their meeting in Beijing, Dr. Mikdad affirmed that the ongoing attack against Syria aims to undermine its stability and weaken it in the face of the conspiracies and challenges targeting the Arab nation.

He reviewed the events that took place in Syria which consisted of extremist groups committing terrorism, violence and destruction, with these groups that are promoted by external parties taking part in burning of public and private properties, killing innocent civilians and attacking the army and security forces, all of which was accompanied by a misguiding media campaign that aims to cause sedition, encourage violence and distort facts.
