The Netherlands is ready to help Tunisia and meet the needs expressed by the transitional government, says Dutch Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal.He told TAP after a meeting with his opposite number, Mouldi Kéfi, here Monday that the meeting had discussed the latest developments in Tunisia. "We will endeavour to intensify business to business contacts and assure private investors of the role of Tunisia as an economic development pole," added Rosenthal, who is paying a two-day visit to Tunisia.He also expressed his country's determination to boost bilateral co-operation, especially in matters of training young diplomats.

Rosenthal is visiting Tunisia after attending the summit of the Group of 8 (G8) most dveloped nations in France, last week "to pay tribute to the Tunisian Revolution and reaffirm the political, technical and logistic support of the Netherlands to the current process of democratic transition due to lead to the election of a constituent assembly and to the reinforcement of public liberties and human rights", according to the Foreign Ministry here.

The Foreign Minister and his Dutch counterpart exchanged views on prospects to revive bilateral co-operation both on the economic plane, with support to the private sector and the opening of the European market to Tunisian farm produce, and at the technical level through the training and further training of young staff in the fields of agronomics, journalism and diplomacy.
