Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani has suggested that an international Islamic criminal court should be established to prosecute those committing crimes in Muslim states. Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani made the remarks during a meeting with the members of an Iranian solidarity convoy, who began their journey to Bahrain in Tehran on Saturday and set sail for Bahrain on Monday. However, the convoy was forced to return to the port of Bushehr by the Iranian coastal guard on the same day. 

During the meeting, Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani said, “The Hague court is providing support for the Al Khalifa while it should investigate the complaints of the Bahraini people. Therefore, it is necessary for Muslims to have an independent court.” He also condemned the atrocities being committed by the Al Khalifa and Al Saud regimes and the desecration of holy sites and mosques in the Persian Gulf kingdom.
