The Israeli military sources are confirming the news that their Military Attache to Russia has been expelled on suspicion of espionage activities. At the same time they have also denied that the said Military Attache was involved in any such activity.According to the Israeli media Col Leiderman was taken from a cafe or restaurant and accused by Russian intelligence of passing sensitive information to Israel.
No official word or statement has been issued in this respect by the Russian Government.The 'suspected spy' who has been named Col Vadim Leiderman was questioned 10 days ago, and given 48 hours to leave Russia. Col Vadim after claiming diplomatic immunity has since then reached back in Israel.Israel has expressed concern recently at Russia's nuclear co-operation with Iran and arms sales to Syria, Agence France-Presse news agency reports.
