Middle East is witnessing instability these days which are driven by genuine internal sources. Syrian unrests however seem to be driven by some external force and there are several reasons to approve the idea.For one thing, while Syrian unrests are categorized as low-intensity one compared to other unrests in other Arab countries, western media centers have placed a special attention on the country’s unrests and press the government by magnifying those upheavals.

Washington Near East Studies Center, run by Israeli lobby ion the US and American Center for Middle East Strategic Studies are among the centers which have accentuated the unrests.The former has tried to view the unrests from the prism of Arab–Israeli conflict and tried to provoke the US authorities to interfere in the Syrian affairs while the latter has admitted that the Syrian developments differ from those of other Arab countries in that they are incited by small groups of people were quickly isolated due to lack of massive support.

The center has also admitted that the Syrian protests remained confined to several areas and never get a popular appeal and that they were provoked by political motives of several small sized sectarian and religious groups.The center has underlined in its reports that many Syrian tribes and sects, including a large number of Sunni citizens, Christians and Deruzi people have refused to join the protests, more highlighting the differences between the Syrian developments and those of other Arab countries.

One more thing not mentioned in such reports is that the foreign policy adopted by the Syrian government concerning the ME developments and notably Israel are totally different from those of other Arab countries. Egyptian and Tunisian governments maintained strong ties with Israel, further angering their people. However, Syrian people support the Bashar Assad government for its stance towards the Palestinian issue.A third, external party therefore seems to be engineering the media work on the Syrian developments and magnifying the size and process of protests.
