A member of the Iranian parliament lashed out at the West's militaristic approach in the region, and described deployment of foreign military troops as the root cause of the ongoing problems in the Middle-East. "We believe that the presence of the alien forces, specially the US forces, poses a threat to peace and security in the region, and problems of the region should be resolved by the regional states," Head of Iran-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group Ali Akbar Aqayee said at a meeting with the visiting Pakistani Senate Chairman, Farooq Naik, here in Tehran on Sunday.

"The existing problems in the region have always been imposed on the nations from outside by the foreigners, because the regional nations always lived together through thick and thin for hundreds of years and in a peaceful atmosphere," Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with Farooq Naik here in Tehran.
